Default Crankcase threaded holes

I have a 2013 Ultra. I was cleaning the bike up today (oil airfilter blowby had run down the right side) and noticed two threaded holes in a milled out flanged area on the bottom right side of the crankcase, directly above the frame. I can't seem to find anything on this forum that addresses this, or what normally goes there, or what it's for. A shop manual is on the to do list, but any insight would be appreciated.

Someone in a post had made a reference to freeze plugs being in this general area, but without a manual I cannot confirm that. I basically just want to make sure that something vital hasn't rattled off, which I would be hard pressed to believe that two bolts wiggled free...and as a daily rider i haven't noticed anything different.

thanks!

Jessie

I know it doesn't look like it, but I'm pretty sure the oil is coming from the air filter, which is the whole reason I was in this area to begin with...

If I am looking at that correctly, that is a drain hole for the cam case separate from the crank area(except thru the main bearing) for checking to see return side of the oil pump is OK if a sumping condition is indicated. It is a NPT tapered plug. It is very easy if you over tighten to break case, so it's best left alone. If not use sealer, and after it bottoms, a little more. The reason the cam case is separate from the crank area is for proper venting on a twin cam.

I have no idea what would go there but my 09 has the same stuff in the same place.
Nothing is attached to it. So.... normal I guess.

Might be something that is used in another platform like a dyna or something. No biggie.

Those holes (3 actually) are for an exhaust bracket on the Dyna models.. Dyna models mount the whole exhaust system to the motor / tranny...

Exactly, Max.
Now OP; Why are you retaining the umbrella drains into the A/C and gunking up the throttle body and adding carbon to your valves & piston tops?
