RED Primary oil?
Clean the oil off add dye to one of suspect holes. drive for a couple miles and use the light to see where the trail leads. Works very well, isn't that expensive and you're more likely to get it right the first time
I thank everyone for all the advice.
It's pouring out today so I decided to embark on figuring this leak out.
I first got a mirror and placed it in a way where I could see the shifter shaft behind the inner primary. Everything was dry as a bone in that entire area.
I next proceeded to prepare to do the foot powder trick suggested by mike. First I had to clean everything up underneath. The more I looked under there the bigger the mess I saw.
I began to clean.
The tranny end cap bolts were not causing any leak but still what a mess.
I sprayed some cleaner and wiped and rubbed and got the entire underneath pretty damn clean if I don't say so myself.
I spotted one drip about 10 inches forward of all this mess.
The rest of the area of this one particular drip was dry. It was very out of place. I looked again at my oil filter, oil cooler and adaptor plate and they were all dry as a bone. Except this one drip that never dropped was still hanging there teasing me.
After the bottom was clean I noticed the pipes had to be wiped down (smudges) and I wanted to get into a few more cracks and crevices.
It was then that all this came together.
About 6 k ago I installed a oil pressure gauge on my rear head like I had years ago. Worthless device since I have an oil pressure gauge (electronic) in my dash but I think it looks cool and reminded me of the past a bit so I installed it.
I had to keep the electronic one and the oil pressure sending unit cause I didn't want to cause the E.C.M. to throw a code by disconnecting it.
Having installed a few of these in my day I was real carefull to remove the sending unit and install a tap off adaptor to run the oil pressure gauge. I know they leak if you don't do things exactly right.
I installed the tee, I installed my oil pressure line and gauge and reinstalled the sending unit back into the tee. I checked for leaks and all was good. I thought.
Today while stuffing my finger with a rag in there to clean the front exhaust pipe I noticed NO OIL leaking but I did notice the stock sending unit was loose. There was no static leak but at highway speeds (higher R.P.M.) this sender was spraying a micro stream of oil downward. The wind was blowing it back about 10 inches pretty far away from its original leak point.
I took a channel lock to the sender and tightened the sender getting a complete revolution plus out of it.
Apparently I didn't tighten it fully at the original installation and it started spraying very slightly but enough to make a mess over time and each week it seemed to leak more cause I guess it was getting looser.
So thanks to all for the suggestions and thanks Mike for you final suggestion which was to calm down and not assume the worst until you work the problem through.
You guys rule.
Thanks
