If the throttle grip is tight against the switch housing it can cause it to bind. Try loosening the housing and move it very slightly away from the grip.

I wouldn't wait. Mine went out and left me stranded. Bike would barely idle and no throttle at all.

I had exact same problem on my 11 ultra limited.
Replaced the throttle (about $130) and fixed problem

Yes You can pull it but as I recall you first have to go into the fairing to undo the factory tie rap to get the slack you need to pull it.

If you pull it and it don't come, pull the fairing and go in to free up the slack you need.
