If the throttle grip is tight against the switch housing it can cause it to bind. Try loosening the housing and move it very slightly away from the grip.
If you want to replace the stock one, you don't have to run the wires. You can change it by pulling the TGS out of the bar far enough to unplug it from the green connector. 30 minute job max...If you can't do it, head over to Biloxi and I will take care of it.
Yes You can pull it but as I recall you first have to go into the fairing to undo the factory tie rap to get the slack you need to pull it.
If you pull it and it don't come, pull the fairing and go in to free up the slack you need.
