A lot of good helmets out there and a few really good ones mentioned in this post. I was just looking at them last night myself for winter riding. Right now I'm leaning towards the Shoei GT Air.

Revzilla is an excellent source to get a look at them.

Vanzant68, When you say you got it for a great price, is there a sale or special on the laser Monaco?
Thanks, kj

I've used the Shark modular for several years now with great success. i LOVE it!

The main difference is the chin bar rotates all of the way behind the helmet instead of just resting on top like the others. This gives you the ability (if you want) to ride with the helmet open, even at freeway speeds. This is great feature, especially in the summer in Las Vegas when it's 110 degrees out!

Default Yup..

After lots of research and opinions from here, I got the Shark. One of the reasons was said above, it's like a convertible...Some times I just prefer...like in the city...to have the 3/4.

First you need to see what you head shape is. Oval, Round, Neutral. All the reviews will describe this.

I have a round head and is more typical of European head shapes, Americans tend to have more oval shapes.

I went with the Shark Evoline 3 helmet, and I like the chin bar going up behind the helmet.

I also liked the idea it is DOT, and ECM certified (better than Snell) and had one of the better ratings on the europe testing of helmets. I lost and forgot the site that lists the helmets and their rating and how they are tested.

Fit is the key to protection. Reading is helpful to point you in the right direction, but you need to try them on your own head to know for sure what fits well.

Shoei Neotec... I have a 3/4 RJ platinum and is the best helmet I have ever owned...other than that I have a Fulmer M1 that is decent , I recently ordered a Nolan N44 and it sucked , it was louder than my Fulmer or my open RJ
Platinum 3/4.
