My buddies and I are in the planning stages for a trip to Daytona Bike Week in March. Are there must-see things in the area? (In addition to the women in bikinis.) How about day rides from Daytona? (We already have St. Augustine in mind.) I'm assuming the roads around there are mostly flat and featureless, but that may be based on ignorance. Are there roads that we should seek out? How about restaurants not to miss?
Any advice on a to-do list would be greatly appreciated.
A1A from Ormond Beach to St. Augustine and North to Ponte Vedra.
(Tradewinds in St.Augustine has great bloody marys, great food within short walking distance)
Destination Daytona, Daytona Speedway, Iron Horse, Cabbage Patch, Dirty Harrys for the wet T-shirt contest, and JB's Fish Hut for great sea food. That will keep you busy for the week.
Me and my buddies have been going to Bike week and Biketoberfest for over 15 years and this year we did something we've never done before. We took a ride down US1 and turned right on 50 and stopped at Midway Airboat rides. It's about an hour outside of Daytona and trust me when I say it might be one of the most fun things we've done at Bike week / Biketoberfest. It was a total blast!!
