I've always had HogTunes speakers and amps. This time (2014 TG) I went with the H-D set up- speakers and amp because of all the new and different wiring and I don't think HogTunes has anything compatible - - yet.
Anything other then stock will make the world of difference.

Try just speakers first and then an amp if they don't do it for you. The first time I upgraded, the speakers were more then enough for me. Now I were ear plugs all the time and I need a little more umph on the highway.

I added just the Hogtunes speakers and didn't think they were an improvement at all. I think an amp is required to get an appreciable improvement nomatter what speaker you use.

I tried boom speakers first with the stock system, then tried RF 300 amp with Polks, one of the polks went so I will order biketronic 7.1 to replace them, I will probably replace the HD head unit with a new Sony as well. Lots of info in the audio section on this form as well.

^^ +2 That's what I did. I went with the Biketronics 7.1s in the front and their BT2180 amp. It just sounds amazing to me.... even at 80mph (with Thunderheaders even!!) I am very happy with my choice and got a lot of really good advice from the folks on here like UltraNuts. Just so you know, I went with just the speakers first, and while they did sound better, it leaves you begging for more - so I got the amp a week later. Like most will tell you, just cut to the chase and get an amp right out of the shoot if you can afford it - you'll end up doing it anyway.

Unless you're not a highway kind a guy - then you don't need any upgrade.
