Doing something different with a Road King nacelle...
I have a recently purchased 2011 Police Road King with a black nacelle. Priced out a chrome one from the dealer, $600!!
Anyone out there done something different with theirs other than black and chrome? I see all the crazy extended ones on the big wheeled customs but that's not really my thing.
Any thoughts on painting it Birch White to match the bike? Or maybe leave it black and powdercoat the aux light kit and turn signals black to match the nacelle? Any ideas that aren't a drastic change?
I think the painted nacelles look really good when they are the same color as the bike. One of the best looking naked RKs I've seen is here on the forum and what made it stick out was removing the front running lights. That really highlighted the color of the nacelle. Since it looks like you are going for that naked RK look (very nice by the way), it only takes a minute to remove the running lights to see what you think. But at the very least painting the nacelle the same color as the bike will help a lot. You might also consider painting the black inserts of the wheels white. I think that would make your bike look really sharp.
