Default 2005 Ultra classic needing help

I bought my bike used with 10.000 miles on it. She has SE A/C, SERT and supertrapp SE slip ons.

I will be installing this SE cam plate 25284-11 and also thinking of swapping my stock cam to andrews TW21 cam. Is this the correct cam for me?
Coz I have read that andrews 21 comes in many versions such as 21N, 21HG and so on.

I will be installing these by myself and I may need all the helps I can get here including all the part numbers needed for this project to be done.

Thank you so much in advance.

Sony

Andrews can tell you which one you need. I changed the stock plate (with the spring loaded tensioners) out and replaced it with an 07 plate (hydraulic tensioners). My particular application uses the 21N cam. I have seen posts here that indicate the SE plate does not require the conversion cams with the N suffix, but I couldn't say personally. I really like the 21 cam, pulls like a tractor right off idle.

Thanks so much for the reply John.. There are 400 over people viewed this thread yet only 1 care to reply.

I just pulled the trigger to buy 25284-11... As for the cam, i really think TW21 is the one for me. However, I may need a map for my race tuner.

Any help is greatly appreciated..

Welcome to the Forums.

A lack of replies, doesn't mean an unwillingness to help- but Members not having the expertise or knowledge to help with your particular question.

Given the general nature of the title heading..."needing help"- around here that can mean routine things such as "where can I buy a colour matched 28 piece Live to Ride picnic set" or "how do i check the oil".

I'm not smart enough to know if your question and the answer given was sufficient- I hope so.

There are plenty of threads on the tw21 and other cams- selection really depends on the weight and gearing and where in the rpm band you need to see the greatest usable gains. ( all motorway or all twisties)

Other considerations are whether the cams are "bolt in" or will head work, clearancing or springs need changing...lifters too.
And whether "Down Below" has Emissions Testing or Regulations which might affect your choice.

Lots of threads, read up on some- look at dyno charts...

Keep coming back.

Mike

Sounds like you are on the right path. When I switched cams and the hydraulic tensioners a call right to Andrews was a huge help. They answered all my questions.

With that said. I absolutely love the Andrews 21 cams on an 88" twin cam.
Tons of low end pull, heck it pulls all the time. I also have the SE mufflers. Great combination with the stock headers. I think you will be very happy.
