2005 ultra ,, gonna change out fuel filter , quick connect, and hoses this weekend ?? is has anybody every bent the float arm in an attempt to make the guage more accurate ?? mine reads at least 1/4 tank high so if i bend it up a little while out is out should help it .
whatcha all think of this??
i use the odometer for fill ups but if it will make the guage better i say why not
thanks mike
sure- same as adjusting the level on your toilet tank.
before you bend- move the lever to see that it will hit E and F on the gauge...it it won't go fully to each end then it's not worth your bother.
when i did my fxr, I measured a 1/2 full tank...and used water...and put the gauge in and out and bend and bend until I had a 1/2 tank indication
this worked great BUT
this was a carb bike, so pulling the petcock and completely draining the tank wasn;t a big deal.
that may be tricky on an efi bike

gonna have to pull the check valve (petcock) anyway to do one of the hoses so i might just do that , if not no biggy , just a thought to grt the guage a little closer
Mike
well got her all done , and the new hoses and fuel filter made such a difference at idle , never thought it was idling bad but what a difference, and also bent the float arm up about 1/4" and the guage seems to be right on ,, or close to it we will see when it hits a 1/2 tank and check against the odometer
