after using only 2.2 gallons out of a full tank my bike quits as if i am out of gas...fill it up and i can go till i use 2.2 gallons again...ther eis still fuel in tank but bike wont run once it uses that much fuel...it is a 97 heritage classic...
it has a stock carb and there is no added fuel filter... dont here a whoosh so dont think it is a vapour lock..what it does is after about ninety miles runs out then put it on reserve and get another twenty or so...i know there is still gas in there i should be able to go at least 180 miles on a tank as i am getting 45 to 50 miles per gallon
Well problem solved Actually the problem was my lack of knowledge about this bike I just bought When I was filling up I was only filling one side of tank as it has a crossover line between the two sides BUT the crossover line is so small that when u fill up the one side in like 30 seconds from a fuel pump there is only about a quart of gas going into the other half and I thought the whole tank was full but in reality I was only putting in half a tank full I didn't know u had to take both caps off and fill both sides.
