I just purchased an 07 Ultra and I've got a list of things that I want before spring.
1). Lowering kit "got it"
2). Docking station for tour pack
3). 10" Ape hangers
4). Street Glide style seat
There's many others, but, those are the must haves.. Why is it so hard to find a four point docking station for an 07'? I guess I really only need it for the tour pack, and possibly an alternate backrest. Is it true that with 10" bars, that I won't have to change "any" cables?
Why is it so hard to find a four point docking station for an 07'?
Because the 4 point docking station is made for 09 and up. You will need to buy the docking points for 08 and down. 53803-06 and 53804-06 are the part numbers you should be looking for. Also, they will state they are not for ultras because technically they are not detachable unless you fab your connectors. Look for Ultracla$$ics thread on that.
The thread is entitled, "how to make your tour pak on your ultra classic quick detachable." I'd put the link in here for you to follow, but my phone isn't cooperating. Just search part of the title and you should ding it. It's a monster with about 36 pages or so. Shouldn't be hard to find and it has a lot of good info.
Ok. After reading the posts by "ultraclassic" I cut the harnesses and installed deutsch connectors without an issue. It was really pretty easy. I'm looking to purchase the mounting kits and was looking on eBay and noticed there are a couple of different styles. The hd version and a chrome aftermarket version. I've been looking for some pics to compare the two styles. Anybody got any pics they can post?
