I have 30K on my 13 and have lifter clatter on startup. Planning on doing a cam and lifter swap shortly if the money part works out right. Thanks for the pics, I'll bet at least one of my lifters looks like that.

Not sure if I can afford the whole 107 with heads and tuner that I want right now but we will see what happens with Christmas. I am sure adding the cams I want will give a nice bump in power too. New lifters are something I always do when I am doing cams regardless of how they look. Might as well replace them while you have easy access.

This is my first bike that comes with the hydraulic tensioner setup. I think your shoes look great. If mine look that good I will be more than happy.

I notice that besides the wear the color of your cams are pretty brown, like the oil has broken down or ran hot to discolor the metal like that. Or maybe your change interval should be more often.

I kind of felt that also, but here are my oil changes since I bought it new in 09.

OIL CHANGES---------------- MILEAGE ---------- INTERVAL
1st oil change---------------- 1000----------------1000
2nd---------------- 3817----------------2817
3rd---------------- 7622----------------3805
4th---------------- 8954----------------1332
5th---------------- 13016----------------4062
6th---------------- 15936----------------2920
7th---------------- 20023----------------4087
8th---------------- 24815----------------4792
9th---------------- 30434----------------5619
10th---------------- 35389----------------4955
11TH----------------40114----------------4725
12TH----------------45326----------------5212
13TH----------------49975----------------4649

So the most I have ever gone is 5619 miles on full synthetic oil so don't believe that was the problem. Between the 3rd/4th oil changes is when it got hot on the Philly trip on I-95 sitting in traffic. Changed oil upon return.
I have not yet done the 13th, as was waiting until I had everything put back together and will drain, fill and maybe drain again. At 3817 miles is when I switched to Amsoil 20W50 full synthetic, and at 30,434 miles, switched to Mobil-1 synthetic 20W-50. Anyhow I think the Philly trip done it in and it's been getting worse each year, and so here I am.
