Just looking for some clearer answers.
I have a 2000 Electra glide classic. I'm looking at buying a set of 2006 street glide wheels, that come with the stock tires and rotors still on them, and i'm assuming the bearings as well.
From my understanding the front should bolt right up but the rear is going to be slightly more involved due to the axle size. I'm guessing from what I have read, for the rear i'll just have to switch to smaller wheel bearings.
Would someone mind telling me what was involved when they did the same type of swap because I am supposed to be picking these things up in the next little while and I have to get back on the road.

you could go to the HD web site, and look at wheel installation kits [bearings and spacers in a box ] just for research so you can figure out if you need different size bearings, and /or size spacers. OR purchase 2 install kits, then you will have the correct bearings and spacers needed
Thanks guys the replies are much appreciated.
Now the only thing I need to decide before going on with this is do I want to keep my stock swing arm or upgrade to the beefier 02 and up revised version
Alternate source for Spherical bearing -
Aurora Bearing (Illinois USA) GE25ET-2RS
Need to cut bushings to spacer size and ream for 5/8 shaft
Need to use pre 02 belt guard if using original wide drive belt
Need to replace 3/4 " bearings and spacer to 1" for rear wheel.
Need to use 1" axle with spacers.
Need green Loctite for bushing to spacer lock. Basically you are using 02 - 07 OEM parts to convert for 5/8" shaft from pre 02 swingarm. Install as per SM.

I did that on my earlier bike, by using adapter bushings for the swingarm axle, using the original smaller diameter. They are available from True-Track, Motorcycle Metal and others. The later swingarm is deeper in cross-section than your bike, so you may also need a later caliper, which is similar to yours.

You can use your caliper but it needs to be reamed for 1" axle. If the Swingarm you are looking at has the axle, adjusters, and spacers; all should match up. Only problem is if you use the wide belt you need to use the belt guard from the original swingarm.

I upgraded my 1990 bike, so had the earlier caliper and changed to the later wheel as well! I also went to a wider tyre and narrower belt, all in one hit, to get it in.
I went all the way with my 2001,150 tire on 16x3.5 Airstrike wheel,2002 up swing arm and axle, adapter bushings from Howard,Brembo caliper and bracket,1 1/8 belt and pulley.2013 18" Airstrike on front with matching axle, new take-off lowers, cowbells,Brembo calipers and rotors.Funny how project creep steps in,I only really needed a pair of new tires, now considering an Enforcer front wheel or a custom 21" if the right deal comes along...
