It seems no one that has a Shoei Neotech has anything bad to say about it. Are there any issues with installing a communication headset inside one of these helmets? I'm referring to a wired headset to connect to the HD factory system on a '14 Limited.
So I like the Dual Purpose helmets with chin protection (jaw surgeries are very $$), a face shield that adjusts up and down, and a bill for shade. (I gave up on trying to look cool a long time ago ... )
I have no complaints with my new Shoei Neotec. The thing is "Graveyard Quiet". All pads are replaceable to fine tune the fit if needed. The cheek pads and inner liner is replaceable, I went with pads 4mm thinner and it fits like a well fitted glove.
Scala Cardo thinks so well of the helmet that they worked with Shoei to develop a new system just for that helmet. http://www.cardosystems.com/motorcycles/cardo-sho-1-duo
Had a Shoei Multitech - wore it till it died. Have an INCREDIBLY expensive Schuberth C3 which is OK, but after it wore in I don't like the fit. Now wearing a Roof Boxer V8 - cheapest of the three, but the best fitting, most light & comfortable of all of them. Lowest tech too, but still the only one I've never fogged up.
One thing I will add is the bluetooth available on the schuberth. Some mentioned sena which I am told is good but its a clip on on the helmet exterior which makes wind noise and is clutter. Schubert has thiers built in to the lower neck pad. It worked. Ery nice and is glove friendly. My only issue is the battery pack was pressing on my neck. I have to eventually manipulate it to fit better. Schuberth claims 82 db at 65 mph on the c3 pro older versions were 84db. I have serious hearing issues to the point of not enjoying riding anymore. The c3 pro took care of all that all bs aside
Helmet fit is the key. I have a Schuberth C3 Pro as well with a J&M 787 elite headset installed that I really like. My previous Schuberth was the older C2 Concept which fit my long oval head well. For that reason I went up a size with the C3 Pro to a large from a medium that I normally wear.
I use a HJC Modular on highway or riding after dark and half helmet for putting around town or uncongested back roads... The modular works fine for me.. I ride with shield 3/4 open when warm and open one click when cold, due to it fogging up...
Harley doesn't make helmets, other manufactures sell them helmets with the HD name on it.
Many Harley branded helmets are made by HJC. The HJC, IS-33, is the leading selling Harley branded 3/4 with 2 visors and vented. It is a fine helmet for the money.
