I have a Shoei Neotec and thought that I would only use it for cold weather, but it is so comfy and quiet that I use it almost year around. I love it. The only downside is the price....but even having said that, I'm still not disappointed.
I also have an HD modular as mentioned below. I use it a majority of the time. I really only use the modular function if stopping for a short time, i.e. refueling. There are two vents at the top and jaw section to provide airflow. Also the visor can be raised in increments so when it's hot I raise it one notch. As for wind noise, I wear foam earplugs so no issue; of course I also have to increase the volume of the radio which I'm sure irritates those around me.

I have a Shoei Neotech that is the best modular helmet I've had so far. I thought my HJC Symax II was good until I bought the Neotech--no comparison. The helmet is lightweight (relatively speaking) and has excellent padding.
Don't mean to hijack , Are the HD modular or HJC true to size ? My head size is 57 cm medium on the size chart.
I wear medium in 1/2 helmet.
My Vega 1/2 is XL and so is my HD modular. They both fit though the Vega seems to be for a narrower head while the HD modular is more rounded. At least that's how it feels to me. The HD modular is probably in stock at a local dealer to try for fit. Would be even better if they let you ride with it for a little while.
As I mentioned earlier, I'm not recommending the HD modular because of the noise and the uncomfortable sun shield. Otherwise I think it is a fine helmet. I'm referring to Part Number 98226-11VM.

I used a Shark Evoline ST. 3 for about 8 months. Loved that the chin bar went back all the way turning helmet into a 3/4 when wanted. It's a Size L and willing to sell for $200.
I now have a Nolan 104 with the N comm B4 installed. Love the fit and the B4 for music but do get some ringing noise at speed.
