I was following my girl friend home today and rear ended her when she had to hit the brakes in the process of a right turn... and she was driving my car.
The car just needs a new tail light lens since my passing lamp when through it. It's a '96 Lumina... I won't be dealing with the paint damage.
My road king took a worse beating. The fender bent to where it was rubbing the left side of my tire. A crack, two dents, paint scuffed, and broken trim there. The auxiliary lamp bracket looks like it is bent upwards on the left side, the turn signal lens is cracked, and the passing lamp came loose (seems I need a special socket to get it back tight?).
All in all, it could have been worse. Sucks to damage a month old bike though.
Im looking at the Street Stalker front fender. I like the low profile look, and it is only $300 painted with the mounting adapter. Any other affordable options you guys know of?
Hopefully I can find a way to bend the lighting bracket back down enough to be reasonably satisfied. Any ideas how to go about doing this or other options?
Sorry to hear and many of us know how you feel but make it a positive. Get a cool aftermarket fender, and life is good. Probably cheaper to do that and have it painted than get a color matched HD fender. I put a Klockwerks Wrapper on mine and increased the wheel size to take up the excess space. Make it a Happy New Year!!!!
I put the FatBoy fender on my '13 RK, thought it looked pretty nice on there. I did however drill out the stock rivets and welded the fender to the support brackets for a totally clean look.
if you have a way to cut a 9/16 socket put a slpit in it from end to end I use a 4 inch grinder with a cut off wheel then you can get the wires inside the socket you still have to make just 1/4 turns and take the socket off and reposition in devery time or you will trist your wires
And I thought it was bad when my GF was driving my Camaro one day, and she stopped at the place I was at while out riding. While we were inside it started raining. I was thinking how bad it sucked that both my car and my bike were sitting in the rain at the same time.
