I had a friend I ride with get the progressive 944s , and he wasn't happy, and he ended up buying from motorcycle metal anyway, so he spent the money twice, and now he is very happy.

Maybe things have changed in the past couple of years, but when I bought my 430's I paid $403 shipped for the pair, and most of the Ohlins and like shocks were around $700+, or nearly twice as much.

No sir, not right, they came on CVO Touring & Street Glide Special, 13 to present. Could have come on others, not sure if that is all or not. They will fit any HD touring 09 & up for sure, maybe earlier.

Have you looked at the Touring FS forum? I purchased a set of Progressive 940's w/std & heavy springs for under $400 and he also sent the spring tool. Some great deals out there on used...just a thought.

My respsone was to someone who said you could get Ohlins for the price of Progressives, not about quality.

I knew when I responded about price, someone would get on here and talk about how much better Ohlins are.

I ran the 944's for a while, both HD and standard springs. Also had 440's. Lousy ride with all the Progressive set ups.
Had 440's. Better than stock but in 09 stock was crap.
Progressive was a stiff ride but ok I guess.

Recently did ollins 3-3. As close to a car ride as I ever came. Very nice.

Just wondering, if you purchase a set of Progressive (or any other off the shelf) Shocks and they don't fit you're needs, can they be returned for a full refund?

I was told by my supplier that if I put them on and did not like the ride I could send them back. I assumed he meant within a short time but I never pushed the issue, because for me, they worked great. I would think a person could install them, take 1 ride on the 'right' road and be able to tell one way or the other.

At the time I had been in contact with a Progressive guy who was in charge of the 430 production because they were having problems getting them out fast enough to meed demands. While he seemed really cooperative and fridnely, who knows how their return policy is. Glad I never had to find out....lol.
