Does anyone know the outside diameter and thread pitch of the faring replacement inserts? From looking at the inserts, i am assuming that you drill and bottom tap the holes then place a dab of loctite on them.

 

I would usethe old inserts and clean the existing hole in the fairing with a solvent, then use a good epoxy to hold the inserts in the fairing. Do not use lock tight in the treads because that will cause the inserts to break loose again when the fairing is removed.

 

Thanks for the help, the replacement inserts are a 3/8x16 NC od. I replaced all 3 of mine today.
