Last summer I managed to strip the fairing insert threads on the lower right (bottom) of my fairing. I was bored today so I decided to fix it with one of the screw in replacement inserts. It was a PITA! I couldn't break the original insert free, even with moderate heat, so I had to drill it out very carefully then pick the pieces out. Kinda nerve-wracking, didn't want to punch through to the outside! But I was able to git r done and now my fairing screws down tight again. Gotta love those screw in ones, I don't know why HD doesn't just use them in the first place.
