so the brake light is stuck on...broken switch tip may sometimes be repaired- search for threads.

otherwise about a $60 replacement.

the manual details that a shim must be used on the brake light switch when the rightside controls are removed ( for the past 30 years or so, nothing new)

Like mkguitar said. They are serious about that little cardboard shim being used. A real pain to change out that switch. You can get one off ebay for about $20.
