Default JIMS cooling system

Has anyone here ever tried JIMS air cooling system. It works some what like t
Wards, it goes in the same place as the horn, and it looks similar, but it has cooling fans, and it also has a horn in it. Just wondering if anyone has tried it

I have the Ward's fan kit on my '13 CVO Ultra and I think in helps at low speeds and especially so in stop and go situations but I usually turn them off when I'm on the freeway for long periods of time.

I wouldn't rely on just one means of helping an air cooled engine run cool.

I'd suggest getting rid of the catalytic converter (if your bike has one) and installing free flow exhaust along with a tuner (and a dyno tune if you can swing it).

The last thing I'd suggest is an oil cooler.

My bike has never went into the "limp" mode, but I am careful to avoid allowing the bike to idle very long in traffic and especially so in hot weather.

Limp mode and EITMS are not even slightly the same thing.

EITMS will cease fuel and spark to the rear cylinder under certain conditons- this results in the rear cylinder simply pumping air through the motor to assist in cooling.
EITMS will only come on above a preset temperature, with no throttle input and at road speeds below 2 or 3 MPH- so typically when idling at a light.

EITMS is a good thing-

"limp mode" usually refers to altered throttle control capabilities which may allow the rider to "limp" home, to a service center...or off a busy highway.

Generally an oil cooler is the first step in assisting cooling to a motor- 103's have them...

The OP's Bakersfield climate is similar to PHX...at least 100 days above 100ş.

I think he is more interested in the combo of the fan and horn.
I have seen em like some others I use ward fans with a oil cooler.
I have no idea how well or how bad the horn works. It is a interesting combo

I have not used this but I am interested in the Jims cooling system as well. This is a pretty good write up ,

The Love Jugs work real well, 100 degrees of cooling.
The provided wiring just plugs right into existing plug underneath your seat and are controlled by your AUX switch. No soldering or splicing.
What really sold me was their video showing them running completely submerged in a tank water.
The way it rains here in Florida in the summers, that's the main reason why I choose the Love Jugs over the Wards fans.

Just a quick point of clarification to this common misconception, the FCS is also 100% waterproof, and submersible.
If anybody wants to discuss it further please PM or email me, I don't want to hijack this thread.

I have the Love Jugs fans also. I bought the frame mount setup. I didn't like the fact that it eliminated the horn bracket so I cut the tab for the horn off and mounted it back on the jugs. Although the Love Jugs fans are plug and play with the factory connector once it is connected how do you service the spark plugs? I added connectors close to where the fans are mounted so that I can remove them in a matter of minutes.

I was the first or second person to purchase & actually get the Wards FCS fans installed on my bike. That set is still on my bike although I sold the motorcycle I originally installed them on. I have aprox. 50K miles of riding on that original FCS & have washed it religiously without regard to keeping the fans dry ever. Many times I have ridden through rain showers so hard that I could not see so had no choice but to pull over. The fans on my bike run continuously when the ignition switch is on. I recently purchased a second FCS for my wife's new Road King. I wired hers using the new "snap switch" that comes with the fans now. They have also worked flawlessly and been exposed to water several times. I know for a fact Wards FCS reduces my oil temps 20 degree. I am sold on them and will always have a set of them on any Harley that I own and plan to keep. They are very high quality and absolutely work as advertised!
