I've done the heavier fork oil thing and while it stiffened up the front end, it didn't fix the design flaws. And the ride was very rough on uneven roads.
I've lowered and raised different bikes, done progressive springs, different weight oils, and lots of miles.
You want to upgrade, fine. I haven't done trials with every possible combination and don't have have a test facility. You asked, I answered with my experience, 45 years of riding and a few years of racing. I've not had any issues and I ride fairly aggressively. I'm done.

Stock is pretty bad, heavier fluid just makes it harsher, progressive springs are little better. Ya need at least some valving, Racetech or Ricor, for better control. I've found Ricor valves marginally better then Racetech, and Racetech springs much better than progressive. With either ya need to mess around with valve settings, fluid types and preload to get it right. Never tried progressive monotubes just because I've never been overly impressed with their shocks?? I'm pretty happy with Racetech springs and Ricor valves from fabrik8r. But may spring for CCE trees to tighten things up?? But I'm getting old and slow...

You don't need speed to enjoy the CCE upgrade. It'll make your 09 handle like a Rushmore, for a lot less. The 14 and later do have both a clamping upper tree and larger fork tubes, but I believe nearly all the handling improvement comes from the new upper.

I just changed my front suspension to the Low version. Have not got to do much more than sit on it so far. I love the change in seat height.
