Default hydraulic clutch conversion

thinking of doing my 12 RG, anybody done this? pro's & con's from first hand experiences?

i did some quick searching and didn't see anything current. is there a complete kit to do this or something that i would end up piecing together. i like the hawg halters ape kit that does the conversion but not ready to drop that coin on bars.

any info would be great

You didn't say why you are thinking of doing this, but IIRC someone in that link commented on using a new cable. I swapped for a Diamondback a while ago and am still amazed how much smoother and lighter my clutch is. I have a beefed up spring and was using an add-on lightening device, which I took out after fitting the cable. So if you want improved operation consider that swap. It wasn't cheap, but peanuts compared with a hydraulic conversion!

having ridden HC bikes- I don't see any huge advantage in operation.

cost
complexity
master cyl on bars
seeming lack of adjustability for rider's "feel" preference.

but that's just me--- I still like using the rocker clutch pedal...

Lately I've changed my bars (WO575) and all the cables to +4.I used Barnetts and upon collecting the bike from the dealer after the swap I was amazed at how smoother and lighter the clutch was after a simple cable change!

i want to go to the hawg halters bars that convert it anyways but just not ready to drop the $2500 if i don't have to, so i was looking to do the conversion now and then bars later when ready to throw down the money. i have ridden both and the cable has been ok over the yrs but i like the hydraulic feel too. i did learn not to use magnum cable ever again. i had to adjust them every 1k miles... another rant lol

I had a 2011 Limited for about 10,000 miles before I bought my CVO. After 30,000 miles on my current bike I wouldn't say the hydraulic setup is any better. It is smooth but so was the cable system on the Limited. It is cleaner looking and there's no cable to disconnect to do a swing check when setting the steering stem bearings. While those are pluses I'd never fork over the money to convert over from a cable system. I just don't think there's enough value in the deal. IIRC the lever pull was a little lighter with the cable system. Of course the CVO clutch spring might be the difference.

HHI makes everything. I can get you a deal on their stuff too. Personally I see no point in converting to hydraulic but additional cost, however if you need help with their stuff please let me know.

I have had hydraulic clutch bikes in the past (Suzuki) and they worked fine, but for me personally this seems like a waste of money as the clutch cable works fine and is much more cost effective.
