Oh man you don't want to be dragging that thing with an Ultra..... tell you what... I will come take that albatross off your hands........

Don't want to have you fighting with the new wife..... my old wife understands an Ultra can tug it.(But then she never was a metric fan either)

Is that what you're asking about? Those things are crazy. I would bet an Ultra could pull it, but a big bore kit would help. Maybe you can make that a condition of the deal. Talk about a wife coming with baggage....... just kidding.

Well, you are aware that opinions are like a-------, everybody's got one and I might get flamed for my opinion but here goes anyway. It's not so much as whether the Ultra will pull it as it is will the Ultra, or any other bike, stop it. I have a friend who got his butt pushed into a ditch twice by just the same type trailer. IMHO, it is too heavy. Period. Of course the GL1500 does have more power but I don't see that as the biggest issue. I've pulled a Bushtec trailer for 17 years. It weighs 125# empty as opposed to what you're talking about that ways about 325#. I'm not saying that they're not nice. I'm saying I think they're too heavy for any motorcycle to pull. Try stopping it in an emergency situation on a wet road. My advice is, keep the wife but lose the trailer.Just my 2c. Ride safe!

I pull a Time Out camper with a roof bag. I also carry a 6,000 BTU ac AND a cooler full of beer and ice AND my wife. No problem. It's just a different riding style until you get where you are going.

Have you looked at their website?? they have an electric/hydraulic brake system for their trailers now, that might be just what you need. Im a firm believer in trailer brakes for even a single axle like mine. It makes it stop straight and not push the truck to one side or the other. Think about stopping while going around a corner with a trailer. the tongue will try to push you. So my thinking is for the trailer to stop itself. LOL

I pull a Bunkhouse with a 2004 Ultra Classic. The UC pulls the trailer alright on flat ground and slight hills but get up into the Hill Country of Texas and you definitely need a 95" Kit. Barely could get 65 out of it going to Bandera. On flat roads with slight rises I can run 75 MPH easy with plenty of throttle left. My Bunkhouse is a 2006 Model and I didn't order it with brakes so you know it's back there. The thing is learning to ride all over again. You take curves slower and give yourself more stopping distance.

Big Dog: You have the torque to pull it... the question is not really do you have the power to pull it, but do the possibilities really make it worth it? You have the new bride on back, you have your self for a total of ________ lbs. You have your tour pack stuffed full with 40? lbs, you have two hard bags with 20 lbs. each, you now have a "to heavy" of a 100+ lb. trailer, you now have it packed with 100 lbs. of stuff, you have the power to pull it...do you have the desire to chance what WILL happen and the added problems that comes with a trailer... IMO... it is a motorcycle.

Good Luck

I pull a Bunkhouse and it pulls just fine behind the UC. Ihad beenpulling a camping trailer with a GL1500 Goldwingthe last 10 years with over 200,000 miles and never had a problem. Just allowextra stopping time and you will be fine. I don't pack anything on the bike, everything goes into the trailer.
