I have a '09 103" with 255 cams tuned with SE tuner.
I currently have stock headpipe with 3.5" Rinehart slipons.
Im looking to change to 4" Rineharts so i cant decide to go with slimeline duals or something like Fullsac DX pipe or just leave the stock pipe and put on the new slipons.
check your VIN- if you have a California spec model then you have a cat in the header...a cat will also show itself if the pipe is tapped with a pen...tink, tink, tink, clunk.
If we all lived by that rule, our bikes would be bone stock. I know I have a pile of stock parts in the garage that are in perfect working order.
Maybe... but I think the point was that it's not really worth changing out a perfectly working cat-less stock header only to gain a couple of HP that you'll probably never feel at the wheel.
If he was going with a 2-1 might be a tad bit different.
I have done a couple 2009 baggers with the 255's and stock headpipe.
It is a good working set up. Especially in the torque numbers.
You will gain just a little HP and not really worth it in my opinion.
All I can say is when I changed my '09 non cat header to a Fullsac X pipe I lost a ton of heat off my leg ( I can now ride with my foot on the boards) and picked up real useable low end (5 mph lower useable power in 6th gear), your results may vary...
