2. Is it ok to use a used TSSM? I'm concerned that there might be something already programed with it that will cause a problem when installing it on a different bike.
3. Will this procedure reset my ECM? The bike has been tuned, and I don't want to lose that...
I guess I need to clarify my question - what I'm wondering is, will the TSSM that's coming off another bike be reset when I learn it to my bike so that I will be able to add two new fobs and then set a PIN?
The TSSM is only on Japan/Korea bikes. What you are probably going to install is really a HFSM. It will be completely reset during password learn. But the dealer has to marry it to the FOB's.
It sounds like yes, you can. As I understand it at the moment, you can install the used module, follow the learn procedure yourself (instructions in my original post) and then ride to the dealer to have the fobs programmed.
I just installed a TSSM that I bought on ebay and I can't get the bike to enter the password learning mode. The bike is not reacting in the way that the manual says it should. When I turn the ignition switch on, the turn signals flash as though the system is armed and the fob is not present.
I can't get eh security light to stay lit and enter the learning mode. Anyone had this before????
