Hello! I just picked up my '07 vivid black roadglide a couple of days ago. I only have about 200 miles on it and am loving it. Debated about the street glide but wanted the cruise and I like the glides looks so it was an easy choice. Almost bought last year, boy am I glad I waited on the 6-speed and 96er. Harley has the package down pat now.
I was wondering if anyone is runnin' the short wind deflector windscreen? I was thinking about getting one for running around town. Thank's
I would like to put on a short screen for the Summer but it's a real pain to change. Put on a Clearview replacement and it took about an hour and a lot of sweat. My last bike (BMW)used four screws and took maybe two minutes to change .
If you do change, be sure you have some extraof those special mounting screws, they have a tendency to blow out and disappear into the fairing.

They are called "well nuts" and I have an extra little bag of themin my tool box. The trick is to not tighten them to much or sure enuff .. they will be lost until the next time you have the fairing off for what ever reason.
As far as the "wind deflector" .. they are ok for around town,it's just like riding without a windshield but they do look good .. if you're out there for styling purposes.
Yep, Still have & love the new HD chrome part, the windscreen doesnt come loose anymore.
The shield in the pic is BLACK & awesome, like others have said its great for around town & ok on the Hiway, but were headin to the mountains here in a couple weeks & the stock winshield will be back on. I can change it out in about 15 mins, no big deal.
just put my 6in windshield back on it doesnt look as good as the black low-pro one but on the fwy it sucks. damn im getting old! its form over function.
