My 07 Ultra stage one with synthetic oil seems to be about the same, I don't think the oil is changing anything other than piece of mind.

I use two different digital thermometers to measure oil temps by removing the oil cap and lowering the temp probes into the hot oil immediately after shutting the bike off. Relative humidity can have a small bearing on oil temps, but I make no effort to factor that in. Since my riding style is such that I never see any oil temps in the 260-300 degree range I don't see a need for synthetic oil, preferring instead to use a high quality diesel 15-40 weight. I recently tore the bike down at 75,000 miles to inspect and I found nothing unusual. I was actually surprised how good things looked. Realize that if you do a lot of stop and go riding in a city environment in which you stay below 30 or 40 mph your oil temps are going to be considerably higher. It is an air cooled engine, so you need to keep them moving. Here is what I see on my bike:

65 degree ambient air temp=189.5 degree oil temp
67 degree ambient air temp=197.1 degree oil temp
82 degree ambient air temp=207.7 degree oil temp
79 degree ambient air temp=201.5 degree oil temp
90 degree ambient air temp=203.4 degree oil temp
97 degree ambient air temp=216.6 degree oil temp
101 degree ambient air temp=221.4 degree oil temp
102 degree ambient air temp=229.5 degree oil temp
90 degree ambient air temp=218 degree oil temp

The fact that all of my riding is at 70-75 mph no doubt contributes to the lower oil temps because the bike is moving and gets a lot of air cooling over the fins, which is what it is supposed to do. The slower you go, the hotter your oil will be in warm weather. I am not suggesting that anybody else will get the same exact results but my examples will give others some idea of what to expect. And like they say, "everybody is entitled to their own opinion".
Nice details, I will have to check in a couple weeks. I will have syn 3 oil and most of the riding will be 70+.

I will say that my HD Oil Temp Gauge & Sending Unit(PN 70900176) that I installed in place of the fairing Air Temp gauge reads 15* lower than the HD LCD Dipstick Oil Temp that I had...

The way my bike is set up now (headpipe, tuner etc),,, Oil Temp hardly ever runs over 220*...

I have just had FM install and 107" Big Bore very similar to yours. 777s, Level B heads, etc. However it is still winter here in Massachusetts so I'm not riding it yet. With my stage 1 previous to the build I alwats ran between 200'F and 230'F on the oil, and another 30'F engine temp on the PowerVision for Engine Temp. Do you have a PowerVision mounted? You can monitor the engine temp with that device nicely.

What are you measuring the oil temp with. I have an oil temp guage mounted in the dash. Pretty accurate.

edit: I should also mention I am currently running the Jagg Deluxe 5 row cooler but thinking of changing ut to the 10 row cooler/with fan if needed.

Here something that would compliment the oil cooler you already have.

I'll look into them, I'm not sure I need more cooling. Advice from Jaime at FM was to ride it and see. But those little fanss are options.

Thanks for the link.
