I am breaking in my new 103 build, running normal break in oil, so no Amsoil yet. Outside temp has been 80 degrees on average, I run the HD oil cooler, and I put my digital dipstick back in for a while, I have seen the oil temp running 227 degrees, is this high, or normal operating temp??
I have a 2008 Ultra 103, 255 cams, SE hi-flow heads, SERT, HD Oil Cooler and recently dyno'd. On my recent trip to Key West I hit 101 temps in Georgia and my oil temp was just a bit over 250 running at 75 mph on the interstate with lowers off. I was using syn3. I just switched over to amsoil and went to the JAGG 10 row oil cooler. Havent had the opportunity to see what kind of difference it would make (if any) since the temps have been in the mid 80s here in NJ. If this doesn't lower the temps significantly, I will go to the BaKer +1 oil pan this winter.
Been 100deg last few days and my McEwan reads 230 when running highway speeds
Mine, to. We've had 100+ six days in a row. My 103" has been running 230 on the freeway but has gotten as high as 260F on surface streets and in stop and go traffic.

I would like to hear how you make out with what you have changed.
