I'm trying to swap out my stock foot controls with the Slipstream style. I got to the brake pedal and just can't get the damned thing off. Maybe I'm just not strong enough, but it doesn't seem to want to budge for me. Any secrets? Suggestions?
Ok......it's not at all a secret. It's pretty obvious. Just look underneath and remove the nut.
I don't see it. I see the slot in the pedal itself, and can peel the rubber back enough to see that there is nothing there. The rubber pad looks like it's just pressed on. I see the way the Slipstream bolts on, but that's not the way the stock rubber pad is.
There is NO NUT on the stock all rubber brake pedal. Just pry it up a bit and spray some soapy water it the hole and wiggle it around to spread it. Then pull it off to the side, there is a detent in the middle you have to clear
No nut on mine either. Soapy water or a solid squirt of WD 40 and it will come right off. I messed with mine for a solid 15 minutes and it wouldn't budge, hit it with WD 40 and off in 10 seconds.
