Default Code help

Got on my bike last night, 2009 street glide with 30k on it. Made it 2 blocks from the house when the check engine light came on and I lost throttle response. Turned around and made it home in limp mode. Same action in driveway when I attempted restart. Put it in the garage, researched a bit. Went back out and she fired right up with no issues and normal throttle response. I did not ride it, just tried it. Got up today, checked the codes and I have a single code...P1511 which should be the ECM according to my list. Pulled the plug and inspected the pins and found no corrosion. I did find a skinned wire from my battery tender pigtail. Could it create a short on the frame that could throw that code? I will also put some dielectric grease on the pins for good measure after I get to the store. Sadly the codes don't tell you exactly what could be causing the condition so I am hoping someone here may have some experience. There were no additional codes and it has never done that before. No mods to cause the issue either. I did change hand grips like 4 years ago so I know the issue is not likely to be related to that because of the time and miles passed. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Do ECMs themselves ever go bad and how much do they run?

Welcome to the Forum. Use the Search function, there have been a lot of posts on this particular code and no one fix.

Default Thanks

Thanks, I did search and you are right, lots of posts. Almost all have 2 codes associated together indicating TBW issues. Mine has one so I was hoping to narrow the field a bit. I'm not lazy, I did a lot of searching before asking.

I didn't think that you were lazy but I know I am. Too much reading for me to help figure it out.

Behind the Air Cleaner at the 9 o'clock position there is a plug. TCA (throttle control actuator). Unplug it and replug it several times. The pins in this plug will lose contact from fretting. After doing this several times apply dielectric grease and plug it back in. Clear codes and take her for a spin. This should fix your troubles.
You can also try cleaning pins with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol.

2010 Limited with some stuff
