It's tire time on the Road King, I thought I'd try a different look this time. I picked up a second pair of profile spoke wheels to powder coat gloss black (hubs/rims), using SS spokes and Michelin or Avon black-walls.
From what I read it's pretty safe to powder coat over chrome if the surface isn't blemished or lifting. Rather not add cost of de-chroming if it will be solid. I'd read it's also good idea to heat cycle wheels to make sure chrome stays put before coating process.
For spokes, Buchanon and HD Wheels offer them. HD Wheels was a little less, and they have them ready. Buchanon needs my measurements to determine if they have that size pre-built, or if they need to make them. Any opinions on either supplier?
