Dont forget about Mean City Cycle. My 07 Ultra seat was the same as yours.....my wife was OK with it and after an hour it was killing me. I drove 3 hrs to Allens place and had to stop 3 times. He did the mods and added the memory foam....rode the 3 hours home without stopping. It still looks stock.
Just another idea.
My RKC has a dual tour Corbin and it was the opposite. I loved it ...wife hated it. Different butts like different saddles.
I think alot of it is getting back in the saddle after 20 years. I did pretty much the same thing and had to put in a little time before the longer rides were possible with getting *** burn. I think you will find that seat will start to fit you better after a while. I have no problem with mine anymore until I get around that 700 mile in a day mark. And at that point I dont think anything will help except a six pack or so.
trust me it only gets worse with time, it ain't your butt, cause the form of the OEM seat compresses but then never fills back up during the ride, leaving you setting on the pan, dump the OEM seat and go with a Mustang (I like) or corbin.
I think most of your problem has to do with time in the saddle. There's little question that more comfortable seats are available, but there is still no replacement for 'building a base,' so-to-speak. I'm a distance runner. It took me a long time to develop the ability to run a 26.2 mile marathon. At 49 years old, it sure isn't getting any easier!
I have an 07 Ultra and just took the seat off today and removed the cover and cut 1" off the top of the seat. Then I added 1" of pink ( soft) memory foam back on. I contoured it with an electric carving knife (aka foam saw ) and reinstalled the cover. I also added 1" more to the little backrest area on the seat to get me a little closer. What a huge difference it made. The whole process to me about 2 hours to do and saved me from even thiking about buying a new seat. This setup worked great for me but may not work in your instance. By the way , I'm 5'9" and weigh around 195 lbs. In all farness, I do upholstery for a living and it helps to know how to do this right. I wouldn't suggest that you start carving up your seat right away. Just a thought.
