sore arss
Some people never have an issue with the stock seats on HD's, but if it's hurting you already, it's going to get worse, no matter how many years it's been since you've ridden. Do you have to "get used" to your car seat every time you drive? A seat is a seat, and should be comfortable to sit on/in. I guess a person could "get used" to sitting on a 2x12 edgeways, but why?
personally, I would not have anything but a Corbin.

I agree if its hurting, it will only get worst. As I have experienced with my seat.

Keep in mind, a Corbin is a very firm seat, built on a stiff seat pan, and will weigh twice as much as your stock seat. It will take 500 to 1000 miles to get the seat properly broken in...I loved mine from day one, and it just got better with time. I have about 10K on it now, and have done 6-700 mile days without complaint from my butt, or from my GF on the back. Some people hate them, but in most cases they have not given themselves time to get used to the feel of the seat, not because it was hurting them. The Corbin fits the bike better, is tighter, and to me, worth every penny.
If you are a short person like me, get them to do a "nose job" on the seat, in which they shave a bit off the part of the seat where your legs are when both feet are on the ground to allow your thighs to be a bit closer together. If you're over 5'10", the stock configuration will be fine. The net effect of the Corbin will make you feel like the seat is higher because it does not collapse under you.
Thanks for the reply on the seat, dang almost $700. This FLHTCU is a very
EXPENSIVE hobby for a retiree!

Improving on this bike will break my SS check, time for a part time job.
