HD makes seats to feel good when you sit on them in the showroom. Soft and mushy feels good for the first 200 miles (and first 2K on the bike), but the foam collapses and you are then sitting on the cheap, flimsy, seat pan which provides no structural support for the bottom of the seat. Sundowners are better, but still leave something to be desired, IMO. Some people like Mustangs...personally, I would not have anything but a Corbin. The stock seat on my SEUC, HD's "Premium" heated seat, might as well have been a jackhammer up my a$$, as my tailbone would absolutely be killing me after 200 miles, then I'd have to stop every 75 miles after that to relieve the pain for a few minutes. Got a Corbin and have sat in it for 14 hour stretches and never thought about my a$$.

Some people never have an issue with the stock seats on HD's, but if it's hurting you already, it's going to get worse, no matter how many years it's been since you've ridden. Do you have to "get used" to your car seat every time you drive? A seat is a seat, and should be comfortable to sit on/in. I guess a person could "get used" to sitting on a 2x12 edgeways, but why?

Which one would you recommend, eleven selections for 07 FLHTCU on the web?

I agree if its hurting, it will only get worst. As I have experienced with my seat.

Like usecotton said, Mean City Cycles. Call Allen, send him your seat, have memory foam added. You'll never look back.

If you tour on the bike, I'd get the Dual Tour. If you want a nice feature, get the heated version if you think you'd use it. It's nice on cold mornings to take the chill off your a$$, and your wife/GF will love you for it. But, if you get heat on a Corbin, you have to get a stitch pattern...I chose the tuck and roll. Then your backrest won't match, so it never ends. If you don't get the heat, then you have your choice in coverings, but black leather is hard to beat, though you can add the braided welts, which is a nice touch.

Keep in mind, a Corbin is a very firm seat, built on a stiff seat pan, and will weigh twice as much as your stock seat. It will take 500 to 1000 miles to get the seat properly broken in...I loved mine from day one, and it just got better with time. I have about 10K on it now, and have done 6-700 mile days without complaint from my butt, or from my GF on the back. Some people hate them, but in most cases they have not given themselves time to get used to the feel of the seat, not because it was hurting them. The Corbin fits the bike better, is tighter, and to me, worth every penny.

If you are a short person like me, get them to do a "nose job" on the seat, in which they shave a bit off the part of the seat where your legs are when both feet are on the ground to allow your thighs to be a bit closer together. If you're over 5'10", the stock configuration will be fine. The net effect of the Corbin will make you feel like the seat is higher because it does not collapse under you.

Thanks for the reply on the seat, dang almost $700. This FLHTCU is a very
EXPENSIVE hobby for a retiree!

Improving on this bike will break my SS check, time for a part time job.

Sorry to hear about your luck ... I considered myself lucky because this is the first stock seat on ANY motorcycle I've bought that doesn't hurt my arss during long distance rides. Very happy with mine, hope you find one that fits like a glove.

I can't speak for the new bikes, I bought mine new in 1993. And it's got a thinner seat than the regular ElectraGlides so you sit lower. But it was my first Harley...When I rode it to the 90th reunion I was asked 'how do you like it'...I said I didn't think it ran that good or it was all that comfortable. The guy simply said: Hell, it'll take 10,000 miles to break in the motor, and 5000 miles to break in the seat....He was right. Spend some time in the saddle. On my bike, it was like a new pair of boots...When they're broke in you never wanna take your feet out of them.
