HD put ACR's in Police and CVO's in 2007. Then on bikes equipped with 103 engines. That was in 2012.

Default Acr

Interesting, new to the 103 world. I guess I was expecting to hear the sound that my old manual ones made as the compression released. Nice to know that they are there. Thanks for the info.

My 09 FLHP has ACRs and the bike had a Stage 1 done to it prior to me taking delivery.

At about 15 K it became hard to start when warm...thought it was the compensator which got replaced.

Bike was still hard to start when warm....grrrr.

Turns out that when the Stage 1 was and the bike was dyno'd they forgot to enable the ACRs...once enabled, hard start went away.

Default 2009 compensator and starter issue when hot

I have 2009, it has 30k miles and on fourth compensator, with its third improved design. After compensator is replace the starter sounds great with no problems, but after a few hundred miles the same problem comes back. If I ride for an hour and engine is hot, shut down the motor and restart the starter makes a very loud clank, sounds like gears down mesh. Harley stood behind it in the beginning but now it's my problem. Anybody got the answer? It should be recall, Harley knows the compensators are bad because the keep redesigning it. I also replaced primary chain and tightener, starter, clutch basket, battery,

Starter Clutch about a $74 dollar fix and about an hour and a little change of your time.

Same problem and someone on the forum suggested to start the engine as soon as you turn the key on. Seems if you wait for the fuel pump to stop you are adding fuel to the engine which usually stops on the compression stroke and creates a higher than normal starting problem . I've been doing this ever since I read about it and haven't had a problem since
