Security is a big pain in the bag. I'm so glad my RKC DOESN'T have it. In fact, if I were buying new, I would pay more $$ to NOT have it. To much fob bullshit.
I carry my security with me, & my bike is never out of my sight.
My '08 FLHTC has security from factory and no ABS. My buddy's '08 FLHX has ABS and no security.
Around '12 or '13 HD tried to package factory options on touring bikes.
For '15. According to H-D.com,
Limited: standard with ABS and Security.
Ultra: ABS standard, security $395
SGS/RGS: both standard
SG/RG: both are factory options (avail separately)
RK: both are factory options. (Avail separately).
At least I'm not the only confused on this!! Is there any way to tell via VIN or anything like that? Basically I'm looking at bikes all over the country and would prefer to have ABS and security. ABS is easy enough to spot due to the extra wire on the left side caliper. Anyone know a quick way to identify a bike with security? Not that all dealers are shady, but I could see one telling me what I want to hear to make the sale.
It's not a make or break kind of thing, as it seems fairly easy to add, but I'd prefer to have it day one. Especially if I have to pick it up across country and then stay in random cities on the way home.
My 2015 Ultra Classic has ABS and no security they stopped making the Electra Glide Standard in 09 I believe, only 2 models available after that, the Limited and Classic
Standard (FLHT) ended in 09 leaving the Classic, Ultra Classic and Ultra Limited
The 3 "Electra Glides" existed thru 2013 then there were two ; ultra classic and ultra limited.

This makes sense^^^, since mine is a '13. I didnt have a choice when I bought mine. I had to buy a bike with both, or a bike with neither. I ordered a bike with neither. Long story short I ended up with a bike with both and didnt have to pay the extra price for it. I am happy I got one with Security and ABS.
