01 RKC starting ?
It will start to roll over then stop for about a second then it will just crank on over..but for that 1 second the bike does nothing..no clicking, no trying to start..just complete silence..then it starts right up
Is this due to the high compression of the motor..or is it something else..it's never failed to start or even struggled to start up after the initial pause
Any help will be greatly appreciated
if you listen to the starter you will hear a whining.
this is the insulation burning on teh windings...once the smoke comes out a pricey fix.
try:
flick the starter button with your thumb
it will either push the piston past TDC or rebound back down the bore...either way the piston will be able to build some speed for the next compression cycle.
then press and hold the starter button- if the starter stops turning release the button
motors ALWAYS stop on the compression cycle.
if you have increased compression, add compression releases
