Does anyone know of a way to tell for sure if there is a catalytic converter in the header pipe or not? I am thinking about buying my dads 09 ultra classic. My local dealer swears that it has a catalytic converter but everywhere I read online including here says that only the 09 california models have catalytic converters.

OP.....you are really headed in the right direction. Fuel Moto and Power Vision are a strong combo. When you get that pipe on, flash your computer..... it's going to be a different bike from the time you fire it up. And F.M. Will be there to download future maps to get you going, after every change you make!

You should do tuner and catless header at the same time....

Keep us posted

OK this was not that difficult. The 09 header bolts on, there are threaded adapters to go in the 09 bung hole (I had to say that) that the 15 sensors go into. A company makes wire extensions, I forget their name but they are in a drag specialties catalog. I did this to a cvo street glide and it ran sweet no problems. It also had a set of fullsac cores in the mufflers. No it did not get tuned. When I sold the bike the dealer that bought it said it was the best running CVO he had even got. That being said I would just buy one of the $100 catless headpipes you can buy and be done with it.

Ding, Ding, Ding, winner.......... get programmer that doesn't use them and plug them up......... (just put on Fuel Moto Micro Tuner last weekend and last step is to unplug the connection to these sensors)
