Who's runnin the Supertrapp SE mufflers here on a bagger?
How do they sound compared to stock? A LOT louder or just moderately louder.
Do they have a good sound or tinny?
Thanks for any input. I'm thinking about a set and wanted to ask first.
Thanks for the reply. These aren't the "screamin eagle" mufflers but the "SE" from supertrapp that are advertised to be 3 db louder than stock, are you talking about these or the screamin eagle ones that HD use to sell and no longer does that had the cross flag in the advertising (off road)?
You want loud? Go with Sampson drag pipes with no bafles. I have a set of the fishtail drags, and I have not found a louder bike than mine. I will also add the full sak duals, when $ permits. That should make them even louder.
I just installed these exact mufflers on my Ultra this week and rode 180 miles yesterday, everything else is stock. These pipes are just a little louder than stock nice little rumble. no problem hearing radio at any speed. I did the 903 download and regreated it but these mufflers gave back power and torque I was missing can really tell the difference in the bike brought back the ole grin factor. These are very good if you don't like a lot of noise. These are not tinney sounding.
One thing I've noticed on the 07's, mufflers alone will not get that deep Harley rumble, you have to get a good intake cleaner and PC 111, Sert. I will add a Doherty Machine PACC and probably a Terminal Velocity 11 fuel manangement system soon.
I put the SE's onthe Ultra about 500 miles ago. I really like the sound; not too loud but much better than stock. Any louder I wouldn't want.
What sold me was the article in Bagger magazine that stated the 3 db increase from stock; I actually believe they are a little more than that. I was also looking at the SE Touring from MOCO as a choice. My old ride was an '04 RK with the now illegal SE's on it. That was considerably louder than what I currently have.
If you are in So Cal, we can hook up and compare notes.
