Platinum Air install problems
The shocks them selves fit on with no problem(& they sure are pretty), but I realized pretty quickly that there was not enough air line in the kit to finish the install. I bought some 1/4" line from Home Depot that seems like it should work OK but it was irritating as hell that they didn't just throw in another couple feet of tubing(heck, 25' of it was a whole $2 at Home Depot).
Then I got to the wiring & ran into more problems. This setup came with the worst set of instructions I have ever seen, there where no illustrations of any kind & no wiring diagram. The instructions where grammatically incorrect also, so I wasn't even sure what some of the wording was trying to say.
Here is what was provided for wiring::
1. a relay with two posts on it, one post had a red wire with a round loop connector on it.
2. a compressor with a red & black wire, the black wire has a loop connector the red has no connector.
3. The harness that goes to the switches/valves etc, this harness has one harness with a red & black wire coming from it -both these wires have round loop connectors on them. This harness also has another red wire coming from it with a round tubular plug-in connector(but nothing that matches it to plug it in to).
I couldn't make any sense of the instructions, so I tried hooking the red & black wires from the harness straight to the battery. That gave me 12v from the extra red wire when I hit the raising/lowering switch so I tried hooking the compressor straight to that(without using the relay at all). Now, the compressor runs when I hit the raise/lower switch but the shocks do not fill with air -the bike raises maybe 1/2" & then the compressor keeps running but nothing else happens.
How about someone who has installed this setup giving me a rudimentary wiring diagram so I can set it up correctly -I am pretty disgusted with the whole deal at this point..........

Unfortunately, it doesn't help me one bit at this point however..........
