going in July . Any must see spots in the area? We're leaving Oregon and going to north cascades national park in Washington , then east to glacier. Thanks
Been in 42 States on a bike...doing last 6 of lower 48 in September.
Glacier is STILL my most favorite place in the USA, but that's me. " Going to the Sun" is breathtaking. Rode it twice (500 miles out of the way to do it a second time), but in 2011 it was still partially closed first week of July. Ended up riding from both ends as far as I could go. All depends how bad their Winter is on how fast they get it open. Enjoy...

that's just us. ... All in all, my fav Nat'l Park with mountains, and I've been to a bunch. Do know that Going to Sun can be snow-closed very late in the year. Have fun. I'm jealous.
Had a Grizzly cross my path on the Going to the Sun road. 15 feet away we just stared at each other for a few then he wandered off. Will never forget it.

Riding between Washington pass and Rainy pass in the North Cascades of Washington, had a bear tear across the road about 100 feet ahead of me. I stopped and watched for a bit to see what came next, cuz he looked like he was running from something. Anything that big bear was running from, I probably don't wanna see too close!
