Default street glide ride

just bought a new street glide. beautiful bike but not happy with ride. traded in a 06 softtail that rode better. is this normal or do I need to play with air ride. also vibrates more than old bike

You probably need to play with the air. Everyone here will tell you to ditch the crappy air shocks. I did. My Electra rides so much better. The Street Glide has a 12 inch shock. That only allows for about 2.5 inches of travel in the rear. I played with air settings and couldn't find a happy place with them. I went with progressive coil over shocks instead. The vibration is because you went from a motor that is balanced and rigid mounted to the frame, to an unbalanced rubber mounted motor. You didn't specify the year of Street Glide, but some years had motor mount failures. When these failed it made the bike bounce around like crazy at idle.

It vibrates more at idle, but I guarantee it is smoother while riding.

Drop the air to 10 or 12 psi.

If that don't work, get some 13" touring HD Premium Shocks.

I have them, and love them.

I'd look for the premium shocks too. you can find them one here an on ebay. I'd like to run them but I have the older swing arm an I'm afraid it won't handle the way those are designed to work. Taking the air down may help too.
