This is not true. They do have a hidden crossover or balance chamber that connects the 2 pipes. Mine is right at the trans case. Regardless, I do like the pipe and the unique sound.
My apologies. lt1-xjs & just plain john are correct. I put this header pipe on two different bikes, and never realized. I was in a hurry to get them on both times, but thought it was just a bracket welding the pipes together for vibration purposes. I obviously should have looked better, or for that matter looked! It's hard to tell with the pipes mounted, but the hidden crossover must be very small.
Just as lt1-xjs said,Regardless, I do like the pipe and the unique sound. I also like the performance. I was told by 2 different guys at the shop I had tune my bike say with the Screaming Eagle Fat Shotz slip ons,it tuned out extremely well.
OK, won't let you know about losing torque with V&H DD and how loud they are. Thought you were looking for feedback. I'll delete my post. Be glad people are posting anything keeping it to the top

For true duals I have had V&H Big Shot Duals on a 09 SG and V&H Dresser duals on the RK. Both are true duals with no kind of crossover. Biggest thing I have noticed is loss of low end torque. With the Big Shots I had it dyno proven, the Dressers I am just going by butt dyno. That's why I was asking about the guys with the S&S with crossover and Cobra's (I believe they are the same pipe). I'm sure you do not want to lose low end so I was asking for both our benefits because I too would like to get a different header. Was hoping to find someone who has had a true dual, then with the duals with the small crossover. They could shed light on difference in torque and sound. One thing I will say. If you want LOUD duals go with the Big Shots. They make your radio useless.
I was gonna keep my V&H twin slash rounds. I have the slip ons with gutted cat headpipe right now. That's another reason I wanted to hear from those who ran "true duals" and then switched to the S&S. With the Dresser Duals it make the slip ons considerably louder. A little too loud for me. Im sure my wife would complain.
FYI- If you do order the S&S , Eastern Performance has them on Ebay for $442 shipped. Think I might start a thread on headpipes.
