Researching service items for my 2013 FLHTC (Electra Glide Classic), I've been reading the forums and am seeing encouraging posts regarding Amsoil 20W-50 for motor oil and Bel-Ray Big Twin Transmission for the tranny. Have not seen anything yet on primary, though. What do y'all favor?
Formula+ is all you need in the primary. I have used Mobil1 and didn't notice any difference.
best primary oil??? I use Rotella T in mine, however if you'll check the top of the page in the left corner you'll see a tab that says harley davidson forums, click on that then scroll down to the oil and oil related tab, you'll find a sticky there thatt says What Primary Oil, it has 450 some posts all the opinons you could ever want.
Like has been said, use good oil and change by manufactures recommendation. I have been a Redline user for many years and have been completely satisfied. I asked Alto Clutches (going to try some of their Carbonite plates in the '09 SERG 117/DD7) what their preference was as far as Primary fluid, "Anything but Drag (fluid)"
