Bad ABS control module. Thinking about removing ABS system?????
ABS control module is bad on my 2010 Electra Glide Classic. HD wants $500 plus 1.5 hr in labor. About $750 total to bail out ol Black Betty. Why not just go old school with the brakes? What all would I need to do besides new lines and unplugging the fuse?
Been riding for about a half century....no preaching, I know where my dear Mom is for that.
How about simply removing the abs fuse ...
I think that would disable the module
and then you would have 'old school' brakes.
.... ( cant be sure tho') ....
I was told pulling the fuse wouldn't fix the issue when my ABS module failed, mine had a nearly frozen front brake lever when it failed. Was told the new linked system ABS module is a $1200 part.

If it were me I would get it fixed. The cost sucks. But It's all part of the package. I'll get over spending the money. But I'd hate riding all the time knowing my bike has compromised parts.
I would look into the cost of an extended warranty, short term, get the whole bike covered, then pay the $50 deduct. I just lost my ABS on my summer trip, rode 1500 miles without, brakes worked find with out it , I had to pay attention not to press to hard on the controls not to lock up the brakes.
