My apologies up front if this has already been discussed....
My dealership washed my SG after the 1K maintenance on Monday. We I got back home I discovered that the seat of my pants were all wet. I figured, no big deal, they must have just washed it before I picked it up.
However, it's now Wednesday and after riding into work the back of my blues are again wet from the seat. And, no for all you jokers out there, I did not pee my pants!
So what's the deal?? Does the Sundowner retain water for some reason? Any good way to dry it out? I've had a Mustang seat in the past and never had this happen before.
When I wash my bike I cover my seat in plastic so it doesn't get soaked. Don't have any experience with knowing how long it takes to dry out. I try to avoid it.
sundowner on roadking classic
no problems with showers or washing.
i wonder if when parking bike it was placed at less than ussual (slope/hill) anglenot allowing run off.. maybe seat was allowed to pool water..at a roof edge or during long storm and allowed to sit hours with no-one to wipe seat .
Sounds like the plastic cover over the foam has a hole in it if the seat is staying wet for a long time. When I do a seat I alway glue one under the factory cover to help prevent it from getting wet. Water will ruin foam if it happens too many times.
