just looking at my new 15 bike and noticed the coolant level down about 5/8 of an inch from the full mark. only 300 miles on her as of now. don't know what the level was when i picked it up, but i guess i will just keep an eye on it. i sure hope HD has these issues figured out by now. anyone having problems with the 15 bikes ?
The expansion jug has 2 marks for Cold level, one for the jiffy stand and one for straight up.
I do think air in the system can be a problem and here is my experience:
I bought a 14 limited in Tulsa OK with 800 miles on it. Flew down there and rode it home to Utah. Bike ran great level was perfect. I started reading the manual and one day went to the garage, turned the ignition to on and rolled the throttle half way and a few seconds later the water pump and both fans kick on. Good way to check that the fans and pump work and as I read a good way to circulate and refill coolant if you had drained the system. The next time I checked my jug it was empty. I bought a gallon added back to the cold mark and 5,000 miles later it's still at the same mark. My wife has a 15 and I did the same to her bike and the level dropped less than an inch. I filled it back to the mark and it too has stayed.
Good luck
