I kind of understand the dealerships not taking things too seriously when you consider it is the navigation system that is malfunctioning. It is almost like calling Dell and complaining that your keyboard is making a clicking noise.
Now don't get me wrong, I would be just as upset as you are if EVERYTHING on my bike didn't work to my standards. Especially when you spend that kind of money on a vehicle. I am pretty sure you have a 2 year warranty on the bike when you buy it brand new. They should replace it for free if it does not work.
You need to find a better dealership that prides itself on customer service. I would definitely have words with the manager and let them know you are not satisfied with the bike and the service you have received. If you don't get the navigation system replaced under warranty then you need to speak to someone over their head (probably the owner of the dealership) and explain to them how a warranty works.
Trust me, they want to make the customer happy. Sometimes you just have to remind them.
What do you mean it locks up every five minutes? the screen gets stuck and you have nothing but a splash/black screen? no volume or control? does it reset after turning the bike off? do you need to pull the main fuse to reset it?
More details, if it locks up every five minutes you should be able to prove to your dealer that it is a faulty head unit and have it replaced.
It doesn't lock up in the same way each time. Sometimes it locks everything up, sometimes just the nav. It will do something a little different each time. Killing the bike for a few minutes will reset it.
What is the software version? I just go my 16 limited Saturday and it does not have the latest version yet, 1.19.0 installed and 1.19.1 is available. do a "master reset" on the system to clear everything then install the latest version. I previously had a 14 with every version and all had quirks but function. Mike
Time to grab the salesman by the nap of the neck and drag His heels down the hall to meet with the Dealer GM or Owner. Start working on your best "Knarley Eye". Mean business.
