I have one. Works big time. Best if wired backwards. Normal wiring pushes the air from left to right which results in hotter air being blown into your intake. If you wire backwards...air blows from right to left and pulls cold air into your intake. Also, bypassed the sensor and wired directly to the ACC switch via a relay.
I don't know what you're riding, but I found out after ordering one, that they do not fit the '07 96" motor! You'd at least have to fabricate a new lower mount. I sent mine back. I sure could use it here in the summer.
sounds like you had an incomplete kit. my kit had two different mounts and one was specificaly for 07's with 96" engines.
Hey, has anyone have the HD engine cooling fan that mounts where the horn is. If so does it really work or worth the $400 somthing price tag. Thanks.
I installed an engine fan [parade fan] on my ultra classic back in 2007 and it has not overheated since. I live in Florida and it made a hell of a difference. You have to get used to the hot air blowing across an already hot engine. So I would not advise wearing shorts on a hot day [or any day at all for that matter]. In summary if you are overheating the 400+ investment is well worth it.
I have the H-D cylinder fan and the H-D premium oil cooler. I recommend them highly. They work for me. The way I see it, every little bit helps.
ditto. but it depends on your riding conditions. if you have a lot of stop and go traffic then you need it. if you are in wide open spaces then you don't.
I've had the Lenale fan on mine for 3 years. Never skips a beat and works wonders in heavy stop and go traffic, ( got a great work out in Denver in July and again in Sturgis this year.) Motor never overheated and the wife said she never noticed the heat coming off the motor.
I have the HD parade fan on my FLHTK. Just got home from Daytona. In heavy traffic my dash temp gage climbed to 230 deg. I flipped fan on and it stopped climbing. Others here, without a fan say 260 - 280 deg is normal. Not for me.
