Yes, the rear whell is lifted up just a bit - maybe 1/4 inch. I love it, it saves space in the garage, and the bike is really stable on the stand. I don't trust the jiffy stand. wouldn't have abike without a centre stand. This one is from eglide.
THis is interesting. My center stand is up by the front tire. If you look in my sig pic you can see it under the floor board. I didn't know that there was one for the rear or maybe the guy that put this one on put it in the wrong spot []
I saw them in Daytona. The guy had it on a StreetGlide and it was very easy to get the bike on the stand. It seems like it spread the weight well and would not sink into hot pavement. I really liked it but will wait until they come down in price. $250-$300 is waaaaay too much money for what it does.
No not kidding. Mines a 98 and the stand was already there. I do like it for standing my bike. Just didn't think much about it until this post. Guess I should have looked a little closer[&:] Besides if I need to remove the tires or anything involving real maintenance I'm going to lift it anyway. I just use it to stand the bike neatly in the garage.
I have the Rivco center stand and it lifts wheel about 1 1/2"s off ground. My bike is lowered in rear using 12" shocks. Rivco offers 2 stands one for lowered bikes and one for standard height bikes. I got the standard height bike stand and am very happy with it. Woks great for fluid changes and cleaning, bike also takes up less room in garage sitting upright.
The same stand as the 'eglide' is available from "The River Exchange" 928-505-7289 in black for $199 plus shipping. I am very satisfied with mine. ......... BC
I have the wheeldock center stand on my 05 ultra, works great, wish it was chrome, instead of black, the company that makes it said they are going to be bringing out a chrome one later this year. And like ws said earlier, if you put a board under it, it will get the rear wheel off the ground. It is a very stable stand.
